Convulsions
Description:

A Convulsion occurs when the patients body shakes rapidly and uncontrollably.

Treatment:

The patient should be kept safe during the episode, and care should be taken to ensure the tongue is kept from being swallowed or bitten (inserting a stick to hold it down and away from the teeth is the best method, but there are times when little can be done to avoid the tongue being bitten). The patient should also be kept so that any saliva drains from the mouth, rather than pooling there and forming a choking risk.
