Cough
Description:

Coughs are a reflex that helps clear the throat and lungs of phlegm and other mucus. Most frequently coughs are rolled into more complex ailments, rendering them difficult or complicated to treat.

Some coughs become chronic and might indicate damage to the lungs and the ability of the cat to breath properly. If a cough runs for more than a half-moon concern should be increased.

Treatment:

Many ailments can be related to this symptom, many of which can be deadly, thus every cough should be accompanied by a through examination of the patient. Once the root ailment is discerned, treatment should be focused on that ailment with actual control of the cough being a secondary measure to give the cat better rest and breathing.
