By Dunestar out of Earthspeckle.
Living at the age of 13 Moons (1 Years)
Appearance

Short Description:

A cinnamon broken mackerel torbie point she-cat with orange eyes

Long Description:

Emberdust is a dainty she-cat with a smaller stature when compared to her sire, being just smaller than average. Despite this, however, Emberdust keeps herself active during her day to day routines, and since her apprenticeship has managed to gain a considerable amount of lean muscle, gifting her a body capable of both endurance and speed, able to maneuver low if paired with larger, taller clanmates in battle. Her tail is stunted and short, inherited from her sire’s bloodline.

Emberdust’s coat is short, with only a few longer fringes on her chest and belly. Most of her body is a pale cream, although her face, ears, tail and legs are a rich, red cinnamon hue peppered by small splotches of cream with streaks of broken mackerel stripes throughout (cinnamon broken mackerel torbie point). Her more delicate facial features are free of any marring (for now) and possesses a pair of almond shaped, bright orange eyes.

Personality

Emberdust is a cat who means well by all regards; she’s eager to please and enthusiastic to serve her clan, but her youth is still marred by a reckless streak with a tad of foolhardy kittish behavior that she’s yet to grow out of – if she ever will. She’s energetic with more than enough to spare, which makes her one of the first to volunteer for hunting patrols and the like, but would rather avoid border patrolling due to its often slow paced nature.

Emberdust enjoys nothing more than to dig her paws into the dirtiest of jobs, and enthusiastically hunts in the muddiest shallows of the marsh looking for prey, and isn’t the most self conscious when it comes to her own appearance as long as she gets the job done. It’s not uncommon to find her half caked in mud and muck or dust worn from hunting – and a good dip in the bog is a great way to keep cool in the hot Green-leaf moons.

She’s a curious cat who impulsively yearns to explore Shadowclan territory, her adventurous spirit leads her to the highest tree branches and the farthest nooks, always eager to share new hideaways, sunning spots, or burrows in which her clan can benefit from but can be just as excited for a restful nap.

Full History:

[0-6 Moons]

Emberdust, named Emberkit at the night of her birth, was born alongside a she-kit named ____, and was the firstborn of Dunestar’s second litter out of Earthspeckle (chocolate tortie point) who had been a senior warrior prior to her trip to the nursery.

The birth had taken a toll on the young queen, and after a few weeks, lost her life to infection of the birthing site, having never truly healed. Earthspeckle had passed leaving her two kits without a mother, although Hawkfeather was gracious enough to accept the responsibility of Queen to watch over the two as her due date was on the horizon, having become pregnant with Dawnflurry’s kits.

A moon later Dunestar had lost his last life to sickness, and Emberkit wasn’t much the wiser having not really known much about her sire, or her dame, for that matter.

A moon after that, Emberkit was pleased to have more kits in the nursery to play with her, but soon found out that tiny newborns weren’t the rough and tumble playmates she wanted. Luckily she had her sister, and was quick to make a raucous outside of the nursery if Hawkfeather needed some peace and quiet so she could pester warriors to her hearts content and never forgot to jump and roll around in every snow bank.

[6-12 Moons]

Emberkit was apprenticed as Emberpaw to _____, a middle aged she-cat, (Moon of Melting Waters 2020) who seemed a good match for her high spirits, but eventually grew frustrated with her recklessness and habit of getting distracted. Eventually their relationship grew into one of begrudging respect, although Emberpaw awkwardly resented her for stifling her freedom. Her apprenticehood was shared with Brackenpaw, and later, Ashpaw and Sootpaw, but when she wasn’t busy doing the odd job or practicing for warriorhood, Emberpaw was mostly missing – probably off to snooze in a nice napping spot.

Her life as an apprentice went more or less without a hitch, and having lived through the harsh leaf bare of 2019, she felt as if she could tackle any and all adversity, even if she felt as if she stumbled across the finish line.

[12-13 Moons]

Emberpaw became Emberdust on the tail end of Moon of Long Sun 2020, to the fanfare of her clan, although she often wondered if it may have been louder if her deceased sire and dame had joined in. She’s never stressed about the pressures of her bloodline or appearances, but tries to live every day of her warrior life moderately while enjoying all the freedom that comes with it.
