Shalefury

A gray primal ticked tabby tom

Shalefury was a large tom with a short, dense coat of blue ticked tabby fur that is warmed by a caramel cast. His coat was absent of the usual tabby markings, and instead had a bold stripe that spanned the crown of his muzzle to the end of his tail tip. His pelt was a patchwork of scars from a life full of conflict which included a shredded left ear. His eyes were almond shaped and seemed to glower with a golden hue.

Shalefury had no compassion for cats who couldn’t pull their own weight. As Thunderclan and Fierceblooded by the standards of his ancestors, he was a cat quick to violence and had little thought of the consequences of his actions. His mood was a storm of both equal highs and lows in which he found solace in few things – namely his kits, who had a great calming effect on him.

Shalefury was born as a unassuming kit, but even as a kit he grew to be a troublemaker. As an apprentice it took a focus that he didn’t possess early into his career, and only found purchase on his skills when his mentor was exchanged for the current deputy, who took it upon themselves to toss their teaching style out the window. For Shalefury it was all a game, and the seriousness of life and death conflict seemed to slick off of him like water on a duck’s wing. He actively sought these confrontations, volunteered for extra border patrols in hopes he’d catch a rival cat pushing boundaries. He usually got what he wanted, and frequently attacked any cat who so much as stepped a toe over the borders. As a warrior on patrol he wounded and chased off a young beagle from Thunderclan territory where it invaded from the orchard. While he was still impulsive, his strength and determination awarded him the trust of his leader, becoming a senior warrior. For a few moons he temporarily took the place of then current deputy when they were kitting, and stepped down when she returned to her position. Other than the usual going ons of warrior life, he also got approached to sire kits of which he gladly accepted. As their claimed sire, Shalefury positively adored his kits and made it his mission to give them the best start in life.

Shalefury met his untimely end from a deep wound inflicted on him in a fight against marauding rogues in the dead of Leaf-Bare. Despite taking out a couple of their skinny lot, he was outnumbered and overwhelmed. His body was found the next day by his daughter, Wildcry.
