Question #1 : Essay Question

Question:

Provide a brief rundown of the personality and history of the character in question, making sure to explain where major personality traits came from, and to include those traits you think qualify the character as the next deputy.

Response:

Kestrelswipe is a sociable warrior. He enjoys being friendly with other cats, and doesn’t mind doing virtually any task, no matter how menial, so long as it betters the clan. Growing up with Wildcry and Savagefox as his closest kin, he often heard tales of fierceblooded warriors, but the brutality of battle and sacrifice never truly appealed to him. Rather, he looked up to the warmth and friendliness exemplified by his sire, Goldenstar. He strives to be a noble cat, always the last to draw his claws in a fight, and a true upholder of the Warriors’ Code. His calm and tempered personality makes him a great cat to smooth over arguments and discuss heated issues with. He is also responsible, and searching to prove himself, so he would be able to handle the duties of a deputy with care, and would not take the title lightly.

Question #2 : Role Play Situation

Question:

Reply to the following RP Post In Character.

Sprucepaw of RiverClan was not paying attention. She was instead following a black and orange winged butterfly as it fluttered through the reeds and rushes on the edge of the river. Her striped tail waved as she practiced a pounce and brought the brightly colored insect to the ground with a ferocious (for an apprentice) yowl.

She then made her way further along the bank, no thought going into the fact that her paws carried her up onto a large, flat, sun-drenched stone. As she crossed up onto Sunningrocks she spotted the grasshopper and made her way into the classic low-stalk that she had been taught and began her pursuit.

Response:

Kestrelswipe noticed the Riverclan apprentice on the Thunderclan side of Sunningrocks. He paused, hackles nearly raised at the enemy, but then his whiskers twitched in thought. This was an apprentice, and one that openly hunting a bug. She must be confused, he thought, carefully padding over to the stones. He gave once last glance around to check for other cats–if this apprentice’s mentor was around, they needed to know of this as well–but there were none.

“Excuse me,” he meowed calmly as he reached her. “Did you know you were on the wrong side of the river? You’re on Thunderclan’s side–you’d best head back home.”

Question #3 : Role Play Situation

Question:

Write an in character post in for the following situation as the character you are applying with.

Your character is out on a lone hunt and spots an intruder. The cat isn’t of any of the clans, and is not one that [CHARACTER] has seen before. Even the cat’s scent is foreign, thick with the off-putting scent of twolegs, with a healthy gleam to his pelt. He dosen’t appear to be either hostile or stealing prey, simply exploring.

Response:

Kestrelswipe sat up as his prey scurried off, startled by the wayward noise off in the foliage. Prepared to give some apprentice a word on staying quiet, he went towards the noise, instead finding a cat he’d never seen before, staring up at each tree and chirping bird as if it were brand new. And the cat absolutely reeked of Twolegs.

“Excuse me!” he called out. “Are you aware you’re in clan cat territory? Most of us don’t take kindly to outside intrusions.” With luck, the kittypet was reasonable, and would listen to a careful warning. If not…well, Kestrelswipe doubted he’d have to do much more than give a frightening hiss to scare them off.
