Honeyglow took off after Sootpaw as he tried to recall where those flat stones were, although Honeyglow suspected they'd be familiar once he got a good look at them. His ears were pricked and alert even as they passed through known territory, it always paud to keep your senses keen. As to Sootpaw's comments on bugs, he swatted at a beetle crossing his path.
"I don't know about that... but bugs do make good practice. I'm sure we've all gone after them as kits." He gave a soft purr, recalling his own kithood and making a game out of herding ants outside the nursery. "Some of them don't taste any good." A sour memory indeed from a once curious kit.
"Where abouts did you say those rocks were, Sootpaw?" He asked, casting a look over his shoulder to keep notice of Brackenwing who has also accompanied them and wondered if they'd would be interested in resting on a nice sunny rock too. "Thinking about taking a snooze too, Brackenwing?"

Being behind two cats in the front, Brackenwing is at most focus looking around the surroundings still. They acknowledge Sootpaw's bug-related questions but did not had the time on answering their opinion of tasting bugs. As a beetle landed on its muzzle and they would quickly swipe it away from them. Seeing it land in the ground, they walk pass by it.
The warrior had heard Honeyglow's question, it sounded nice try, but is something they'll not be doing. Brackenwing would rather stay awake while letting the elder rest instead. Keeping eye on the apprentice at the same time - So they've got a lot of duties for this special patrol, and it rested enough from the Warrior den. No need of snoozing after all.
"Oh well, No, that won't be what I'll be doing when we'll get there. Thinking though it be better for myself to stay active and awake, Honeyglow." They also felt the ground being more solid than the territories it passed by. Don't know why Brackenwing would think that be necessary to notice; they are very observant of details on where they're at and it feels silly to think of it too much.

The rock was just ahead, and Sootpaw hopped on top to show it to the warriors. It was indeed a good sunning rock; located in a small clearing where the sky was free to beam down - unobstructed by branches. It also wasn't all that defend-able with very little cover from the elements and most importantly - in clear view of the Thunderclan side of the border.
"I think this could do!" He enjoyed the warmth of the stone on his paw pads. It was certainly nicer than the breeze he had been suffering through on the way here. Getting wet had a lot of disadvantages!
If he was really lucky, maybe a Thunderclan patrol would come by!

Honeyglow smiled at both of them, pleased for the escort. It would have been much lonelier if he had gone by himself. He gave a nod at Brackenwing. Their response made senses, and a an actual warrior, it would be the wise thing to do, as much as he wanted the warrior to relax as well. "No, you're right. Might as well mark the border while we're here - I don't think it's been freshened yet."
He followed the eager apprentice as he made his way into a clearing, breaking through of a small thicket bordering the thunderpath. He peered across the wide set stone of the thunderpath and into Thunderclan territory. He didn't want his dozing to be disturbed by a rival patrol, but he would be as amiable as he could should they be noticed from across the way.
"Just as you said, Sootpaw. I think this can do too." The elder made his way to the rock, becoming eerily stern as he exagurated his expressions of studying the stone, weighing its merit in front of the apprentice. he half circled it, even giving it a sniff before he hopped onto the rock and turned, feeling the heat on his paws.
Finally, he beamed at Sootpaw. "It's perfect."

They walk closely to the rock that Sootpaw talked about, feeling some warmth from above the sky. It sure is a lot warmer now. As Brackenwing would find someplace to sit anywhere at the clearing, where it's a lot shadier and not too warm. But they plan to make sure on getting out of its spot so they'll take a walk around the area they're in now. When the time Honeyglow would rest on his sleeping spot.
So they sought out any tree to sit under. Eventually finds it, just right next to a few other warm flat stones. It's not far at all from where the Elder and apprentice will hang around. Sniffing the grass and air, Brackenwing would notice a strange scent; didn't suspect they will be outside of their border for this patrol.
Oh well, they're promising to look out for anything and keep the patrol protected. It'll just have to wait until something happens. Hopefully nothing will, Brackenwing would think.

He hopped off the rock to make room for the elder and warrior, and Sootpaw found himself staring out across the Thunderpath. Thunderclan cats had been pretty rude at the gathering, but maybe that was just the cats that had been there.
Even so, the brindle apprentice seemed interesting - willing to stand up to Leaders. He had gotten an earful from his sire on the way home about that... maybe she did too.
Tearing his eyes away from the treeline before it became too suspicious, Sootpaw caught a glance at something moving in the leaves on the far side of the clearing. Dropping into a hunter's crouch, the tom slunk across the leaf covered ground - pouncing to reveal a few hidden frogs; barely a mouthful but still good practice. Sootpaw joyfully swiped at the small amphibians, that scattered at his approach, his paws batting the air with indecision.

It was good to see both cats enjoying themselves. He suspected their wouldn't be much to worry about. A passing monster or a gaggle of thunderclanners on patrol. Honeyglow was finding himself very comfortable in the sun, and he lowered himself onto the rock where his belly could absorb the warmth. It wasn't long before his lashed fluttered, feet tucked in like a baking, orange loaf. He would doze for a bit, occassionally peering at his clanmates from across the clearing. Sootpaw had his paws full with a few frogs across the way, and brackenwing seemed content to keep watch. Honeyglow closed his eyes again, dozing as he had set out to do.
